The Center for Liberal Studies – Markos Dragoumis and Circle of Ideas for National Reconstruction are pleased to invite you on Thursday, April 28 2019, from 18:00 to 20:30, at a panel discussion, organized by ELF, titled “Regulatory Quality Index: What has to change both on national and on European level.” The event will be hosted at King George Hotel, in Athens – Ballroom Hall.

Regulatory policy is the key element for both liberal democracy (rule of law) and the promotion of economic prosperity, generating significant social and economic benefits and contributing to social well-being. The Regulatory Quality Index is a toolkit to measure the quality of the laws produced in a country; implemented in Greece in 2018 and adjusted for Bulgaria and Turkey.

Some key questions that are to be discussed are: Is better regulation compatible with the rule of law? What is the quality of regulation in Greece for 2018? Which are the main challenges of the regulatory framework in Turkey and Bulgaria? Which are the main regulatory areas the Regulatory Quality Index should focus on?
