Liberty Forum of Greece and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, joined forces to spread the idea of subsidiarity to the Greek countryside.

Mr Thodoros Skylakakis MEP and chairman of the party ‘Drassi’, Mr Gregory Vallianatos, Political Scientist, Journalist and Chairman of the party ‘Liberal Alliance’, and Professor Nikos Yannis who works at the European Commission, together with Nikos Charalambous of the Liberty Forum of Greece, Athanasios Grammenos and Markus Kaiser of FNF visited Patra, Oropos, Rethymno and Heraklion, and discussed with local mayors and local authority officials the principle of subsidiarity.

The group held a panel discussion at every town trying to make people aware that this principle may sound distant but it affects greatly their everyday life. It was also a way for representatives of the European Union to be closer to the people of Greek towns and regions bypassing the capital and its central government
